Aspen Isles First Grand Show- OPEN FOR ENTRIES

Deadline extended by one month!

Aspen Isles has decided, in the spirit of horse showmanship, to host their own show using the resources of the large stable. There will be many events to fit many breeds.

WATCH OUT FOR NEW EVENTS/PRIZES/NOTIFICATIONS- This may change A LOT before the deadline is up! You might see another event you like yet, or suggest one!

BASIC RULES/INFO:
Limit of one entry of one horse per event. One horse may be entered in several events, but not multiple times in one event.
No reusing image in two events, or from another show.
Lineart IS allowed, but greatly decreases chance of winning. Also renders all kaaring points null.
Referencing/tracing is fine
Entries MUST include name of horse and link to reference.

This show will be judged on a combination of:
Effort
 Following event rules
 Creativity (ie inclusion of stories, interesting events)

This event will qualify as a show for Nordanner Kaaring. 


The Aspen Isles First Grand Show will be judged on 30-10-14: 

PRIZES:

EVERYONE who enters will be able to show off a gorgeous participation ribbon!

Donated general prizes:
Capilloque will give a Capilloque Custom to the First Place for all classes except for the halter classes. 

The-Nivian will give a free custom import (non mutation) to the general & foal halter class, free jumping and dressage.
(the winners to contact group)

The-Fjordblood will give a random import to every winner in every class. The winners have to contact the group!

Grand Champion:
A horse who has entered in multiple events and preformed spectacularly.

-1x Full body drawing, painted background, of horse in tack wearing the rosette and sash

Best Stable:
The stable with the most wins. Enter lots of horses, and you could be in the running for this prize!

Best of Breed: 
The best horse presented of any given breed. This will be judged on rarity of horse's traits, amount of wins, and general presentation of horse. Of each breed presented, one prize will be given.

A special class. Show off your horse getting ready for the show, or training at home in preparation for the show. The winner of this class will receive a "most prepared" bouquet and a rosette for preparation effort.

General Halter:
Setting:
-An indoor arena with a red, dusty floor. 
Tack:
-Halter and long lead: may be decorative or plain. Lead may attach at bottom or top of noseband.
-Horse may be presented as wanted. Horse cannot wear excessive costume, and no tack is permitted other than the halter.

-None if wanted. 
-Neatly dressed handler working horse is preferred to no handler.

Foal Halter Show:
Setting:
-An indoor arena with a red, dusty floor.

General Dressage:
Setting:
Outdoor dressage arena. There are a couple of aspen trees in the distance. Full daylight, or under spot-lights at night.
Tack:
-English saddle
-Braided or cut mane
-Tail banged, or at least neat.
Breed:
Any
Rider:
-Required, at least half view (the more, the better your chances). Neat and traditionally dressed. Long hair must be tied back or in a bun. Helmet is required.

Show Jumping:
Setting:
Outdoor setting with a mix of different jumps. Dirt flooring, dry conditions. Full daylight, or under spot-lights at night.
Tack:
-English saddle and bridle
-Boots are allowed, but not required.
-Running martingales allowed.
-Breastplate is allowed.

Any
Rider:
-Required, at least half view (the more, the better your chances). Neatly dressed, with any safety gear wanted. Must wear riding boots. Long hair must be tied back at least. Helmet is required.

Free Jumping:
Setting:
Outdoor setting with a mix of different jumps. Dirt flooring, dry conditions. Full daylight, or under spot-lights at night.
Tack:
-Neat halter- may be decorative.
-Braided or cut mane
-Tail banged, or at least neat.

-Not required. May be standing at the sidelines, watching (including a handler may increase your chances of winning!)

Endurance:
Setting:
A yellow aspen forest and a wide, grassy plain. There are a few dams and small ponds along the way, as well as many fallen logs and boulders. There may even be small forest animals- watch they don't frighten your horses!
The weather is coming in a little cloudy. Maybe it will rain?
Tack:
-Tack chosen for comfort of rider and horse
-Breastplate and/or crupper allowed
-Horse should wear shoes, and have some form of leg protection

-Required, at least half view (the more, the better your chances). Rider is dressed for comfort and the current weather.. Helmet is required.

Reining: 
Setting:
Dusty outdoor arena, dry conditions. Full daylight, or under spot-lights at night.
Tack:
-Splint and skid boots are required to avoid injury
-Western Saddle 
-Western Bridle with no noseband and a curb bit. Any reins
-Spurs allowed, whips are not.

-Required, at least half view (the more, the better your chances). Jeans and a shirt, with long hair tied-back at least. Hat or helmet may be worn.
